How the calculation works
Salary is combined with the employer NI, pension, bonus, benefits and other cost assumptions entered.
Salary is combined with the employer NI, pension, bonus, benefits and other cost assumptions entered.
What counts as the true cost?
Employment cost can be significantly higher than gross salary once employer National Insurance, pension contributions, bonuses, benefits and other recurring costs are included.
Use with care: Employer NI and pension contributions do not always apply as a simple percentage of the whole salary. This tool is intended for workforce budgeting and scenario planning rather than payroll calculation.
