How it works
SSP weekly rate = lower of 80% of average weekly earnings and the statutory weekly rate; daily rate depends on qualifying days.
For 6 April 2026 to 5 April 2027, GOV.UK states SSP is GBP 123.25 per week or 80% of average weekly earnings, whichever is lower. SSP is paid for qualifying days and the detailed rules should be checked for linked periods and other exceptions.
