What do I do?

I can come back to work when…

I have COVID-19 symptoms:

  • HIGH TEMPERATURE – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back.
  • A NEW CONTINUOUS COUGH – this mean coughing a lot more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24hrs.
  • A LOSS OR CHANGE TO YOUR SENSE OF SMELL OR TASTE – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything.

DO NOT COME TO WORK.

CONTACT YOUR MANAGER/HR

Self-isolate the whole household for 10
days. Get a test.

INFORM MANAGER/HR IMMEDIATELY ABOUT TEST RESULT.

The test comes back negative.

I test positive for COVID-19…

DO NOT COME TO WORK for a minimum of 10 days.

CONTACT YOUR MANAGER/HR and agree an earliest date for possible return.

Self-isolate the whole household for 10 days. Remote working where possible.

The 10 days is completed and you feel better, even if you have a cough or loss of taste/smell. These symptoms can last for several weeks.

I test negative after experiencing COVID-19 symptoms…

CONTACT YOUR MANAGER/HR and discuss when you can come back to work (same day/next day).

The test comes back negative.

I am ill with symptoms not
linked to COVID-19…

DO NOT COME TO WORK for a minimum of 10 days.

CONTACT YOUR MANAGER/HR.

Agree an earliest date for possible return.

You have completed 10 days of isolation.

NHS test & trace has identified that someone in my household has been in close contact with someone who has symptoms of confirmed COVID-19…

That individual needs to isolate within your household for 10 days (follow NHS advice).

You and other members of your household do not need to isolate but please advise your manager/HR as we may take a more cautious approach than the government requires.

This will also enable us to consider whether you may need any other support.
